The short version
Your financial data never leaves your browser. The extension has no servers, no accounts, and no analytics, and it collects no data whatsoever. The only network access it can make is an optional, download-only check for a renewed license key — and you can turn that off.
What the extension stores (locally, on your device)
- Your learned merchant memory: merchant names mapped to the accounting codes and descriptions you previously entered. It never stores statements, transaction lists, amounts, or receipts.
- Your settings (e.g. auto-fill vs suggest-only) and, if entered, your license key (which contains your email address, shown back to you in the popup).
All of this lives in your browser's local extension storage on your device. It is never transmitted to us or anyone else. Uninstalling the extension deletes it; the Export button lets you save a copy first, anytime.
What the extension sends over the network
Nothing — with one narrow, optional exception. When your license is
within about two weeks of expiry, the extension can download a renewed key
for itself from our static file host (a plain HTTPS GET to
https://memfill.app/renewals/<licence-id>.json — addressed by a random
licence id, and the file contains no email address). Like any web request, the host technically
observes an IP address and timestamp when this happens — at most every few
days near expiry, never tied to your browsing or reconciliation activity.
You can disable this in the popup ("auto-renew license"); with it off, the extension makes zero network requests and renewed keys are pasted in manually.
Permissions, explained
- Access to
centresuite.com— required to read and fill the expense page you're looking at. The extension runs nowhere else. (If future versions support additional sites, each is off by default and enabled by you, per site.) - Storage — required to keep your merchant memory on your device.
The extension has no background service worker, executes no remote code, and requests nothing else.
Data collection declaration
Per the Chrome Web Store's disclosure categories, this extension collects none of the enumerated data types. We have no database to breach and nothing to sell: this is privacy by architecture, not by promise.
Changes
If this policy ever changes materially — in particular, if any network behavior is ever added — the change will be stated plainly here and in the extension's changelog before it ships.
